Foolish or Wise...

I recently had a friend tell me an embarrassing story about how one of her friends swore in the temple. Last night Greg and I had our own temple embarrassment. We had signed up to clean the temple from 11-1 last night. We weren't sure what to wear, no one gave us any details and neither one of us had cleaned the temple before. I thought I seen people in street clothes enter the temple before and assumed that they were going to clean it. So we showed up in "cleanin" clothes and thought we would be put to work. As we enter the dude at the front desk gives us this look of utter disgust. It was then we should have turned running. It was a bit of chastisement and we left being told over 3 times how he, "Could NOT let us enter!" We felt so stupid thinking we would even be able to wear that type of clothing into the house of the Lord, but it was an honest mistake. We went home changed and came back to find the doors all locked up. We could see people inside and we were trying to get their attention to let us in. We felt like the 5 foolish virgins in the Parable of the Ten Virgins... not being properly prepared the first time around and trying to still get in. I kept saying little prayers in my heart that they would still let us in. Long story short we finally got in and I vacuumed the entire baptistry.
